Agra. Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) organised an industrial and trade conference with a high-level delegation from apex industry body, Sharjah Hamriyah Seaport International Free Zone and UAE government at Hotel Double Tree by Hilton on Fatehabad Road. The programme was inaugurated by Federation of Cold Storage Association President Rajesh Goyal, Laghu Udyog Bharati Agra President Vijay Gupta, Chamber of Food Processing Industries Association Rajesh Aggarwal, Agra Floor Covering Association President Santosh Maheshwari, Agra Shoe and Shoe Component Association Secretary Amba Prasad Garg and Laghu Udyog Bharati State Secretary Manish Kumar Aggarwal.

     Ali Al Jarwan, Commercial Director, Government of Sharjah (United Arab Emirates) Hamriyah Free Zone said that about 40 percent of our investors in Hamriyah Free Zone are from India. It is a business hub that offers unique logistics advantages through excellent land, sea and air connectivity. Agra-based industries can take advantage of the UAE, especially the Hamriya Free Zone, as a re-export base to Africa and Europe.

Hasik KP of Hamriya Free Zone said that setting up a business unit in Hamriya Free Zone can be extremely lucrative for Indian companies. By paying as little as 3.5 lakh Indian rupees, any company can open an office in the SAIF Zone, which includes one year's rent, electricity, water, all permissions and a quota for 4 residence visas.

Joint Commissioner Industries Anuj Kumar said that Uttar Pradesh has 9 million small scale industrial units which is the highest in the country. The MSME sector accounts for about 60% of the total industrial output in Uttar Pradesh. Today, Agra is also witnessing globalization in industries.

Federation of Cold Storage Associations President Rajesh Goyal said that ever since the two countries signed the historic trade agreement of CEPA, we are witnessing a defining change in our relations.

Chamber of Food Processing Industries Association Rajesh Aggarwal and Laghu Udyog Bharati Agra President Vijay Gupta said that as Indian MSMEs are looking to expand their global footprint and create products and solutions for the world, UAE is fast emerging as the preferred destination for Indian MSMEs and startups.

Assocham Deputy Director Irfan Alam interacted with hundreds of businessmen who attended the global conference organized with the cooperation of all and quenched their curiosity. More than 120 businessmen of the city participated in the program. The stage was conducted by Sagar Tomar. Sunil Singhal, Rajiv Bansal, Nitesh Aggarwal, Sachin Goyal, Anuj Singhal etc. were present on this occasion.
